FAROUT
A downloadable game for Windows and Linux
Download NowName your own price
A game made for the Games Made QVIIck jam, inspired by a dream I had of a game by the same name
Objective
Survive for as long as possible while trying to get the highest score
Controls
- WASD/Arrow keys - move around
- Space/Enter - select, use bomb, restart
Mechanics
- Running into slopes will move you along their side
- Every 10 seconds, you level up. The higher level you are, the faster enemies move. Eventually enemies will stop moving faster and your multiplier will start increasing
- Using your bomb will destroy terrain around you, awarding you points for each cell destroyed, and punishing you for any whitespace remaining in the explosion radius
- Collecting bombs around the map will increase your explosion radius, but using your bomb will consume them all

I agree that even trying to bomb as much terrain as possible, I usually ended up hundreds in the negative, so I can't really say a high score...
Making huge explosions was fun in itself though.
Bit of a spooky surprise when I started spamming space to dig upwards, heh
Really fun game! The idea you had in your dream is really good :D
This was really cool and interesting to play, good job!
Hey, this is surprisingly fun! Even though I can't figure out a good strategy; if I survive for a long time then my score is definitely below 0.
It's a shame the window isn't resizable. I lowered my screen resolution so that it'd be bigger, and the... easter egg definitely hit me harder than it would otherwise xD
Also, thanks for providing a linux build.
The more open space inside of your explosion radius, the more points you'll lose. try to tuck yourself in a corner before using your bomb!
And yes of course! I use Fedora as a daily driver myself :)
